I love to read, and summer is the perfect time to relax outside with a tall glass of lemonade and a good book while the kiddos play. For a little while, I get to escape to another world where there’s no laundry to be done, floors to be cleaned, or bills to be paid. At least until the kids get out of the pool, dripping water all over and demanding to be fed!
I know that I’m always on the lookout for a good read, so I thought I’d share some summer reading suggestions with the Skinny Mom readers out there!
Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James
I realize that pretty much everyone is already talking about this one, but I have to put it at the top of the list. It’s THAT good!!
The P.U.R.E. by Claire Gillian
The P.U.R.E. is the debut novel of a new author, Claire Gillian, who describes herself as a “darkly romantic curmudgeon”. This book was a super fun, sexy read! Think Jennifer Crusie or Janet Evanovich type fun with a dash of Karen Robards intrigue and suspense!
The Things That Keep Us Here by Carla Buckley
This one is also by a new author, and I couldn’t put it down! It’s a thrilling suspense novel, but also an emotional look at the heart & soul of a family in trouble.
A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty by Joshilyn Jackson
This one is on my own summer reading list. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I can’t wait to read it!
PUSH by Chalene Johnson
If you’re looking for a great book on diet & exercise, this is it! I loved it because it’s different than the other books out there on how to get in shape. Chalene’s system will help you reset your priorities, develop new habits, and get organized in order to reach your goals!
…so what’s on your summer reading list???
