Who remembers hula hooping with your friends back in grade school? I remember having contests during phys-ed to see who could keep their hoop spinning the longest. Although I’m pretty sure I never won, I remember how much fun it was to try.
Now, I watch my daughters and nieces with envy as they spin their cool new neon, light-up and glitter-filled hula hoops around and around. And, (because I’m a trainer) it has crossed my mind, a time or two, that the movement hooping requires looks like a fantastic workout for the hips, abs and even legs and glutes.
