I want to thank everyone for participating in the event. We had about 500 people..that is an approximate estimate. After getting a ton of emails, facebook support and rsvp’s from everywhere…that is the closest number I could come up with.
What I did realize in this is that a health and fitness movement is possible and achieveable. I realized that a pretty high number of our readers are new to the fitness arena. I realized that a great deal of our readers are looking for walking and running training schedules. So…realizing all of that, skinny mom racing will be born. I know that Brooke loves my wild ideas..but I can’t wait. I LOVE RACES and it is a great way to spread our fitness and health movement across the globe. So stay tuned for further information regarding the racing team.
I want to thank my friends who ALWAYS support me in my crazy ideas and even treated my husband like he was crazy when he said the virtual 5k idea was going to fail. I want to thank all of you who keep me and others moving everyday.
A special thanks to all of our sponsors for the event…I love giving away free stuff…and the more you patronize those sponsors the more free stuff we will get to give away. Also, there was a HUGE response to the shirts…some sizes went quickly we will be ordering the shirts and letting each of you know when yours will ship.
So anyway, thank you for all that you do for skinny mom.
Below are a few pictures and comments from the race this past weekend! Thanks for sharing!
My good friend, Denyce Holley and I ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K on Saturday. “It was my first 5K (so she was kind to bear with me) but we finished in 29 minutes! It was a great experience and I’m definitely up for more 5Ks (or more) in the future!!”
Beth Schroeder “My daughter and I before our 5k yesterday. We finished in 29:32 which was 5 minutes faster than our last race a month ago :)”
