Man, I just love the summer Olympics. Do you?
When the Olympics roll around every four years, I get all geeked up and can’t get enough. As soon as I hear the music, I get a little jolt of excitement. I love watching all the sports (and I do mean all). It doesn’t matter if it is table tennis, shooting, or gymnastics, I will watch it and cheer for the Americans.
One of the best parts of the Olympics for me is all the human interest stories. Those stories that pull at your heart strings and make you feel like you actually know these athletes. The stories that make you root for them to win even more.
In this day and age with all the instant media coverage, this Olympics has been a little different. I have tried not to read the spoilers during the day, but they are everywhere. CNN is constantly sending me breaking news emails with the results – UGH! The day the USA women’s gymnastics team won the Gold in the team competition, I had actually already heard the results before the prime time show, but I still sat there and watched every performance and even got a little teary-eyed when our team won it all!
So, I want to hear from you: Do you love the Olympics as much as me? Are you glued to the TV? Do you like the spoilers that are given out before the competitions air on TV?
