I know I don’t often tell my husband thank you enough or how much I appreciate all that he does…so what a better place on father’s day to give my ode’ to B. Rhodes…..he deserves it…in the words of my good friend Amy who always says…”he’s a good guy”…he really is and I thought that I would share with you.
When we first got married, I had no intention of being a stay at home mom, it was because of a bunch of circumstances beyond my control that I ended up staying home with our oldest Jake (5 yrs ago….read into this ladies to get a sitter you can trust and one that doesn’t flake out all of the time). I started teaching StrollerFit right away and made some money and do some home health visits to make some more money, but that is my “Target and TJ Maxx money” and it stays with me. Brian on the other hand always makes sure that he can provide for our family. For the last four years, he has taken on two jobs to make sure we are able to do all of the things that we want to do and he never complains… he busts his tail.
In addition to all of the work that he does, more importantly our kids adore him. They wait anxiously at the door for him to come home. He never misses a practice or a game and always is there when they want to throw ball or practice their swing. He is also a great boo boo kisser and is far more kind hearted than I am when it comes to kids injuries and bandaid distribution. He is a great husband too, which I often neglect to tell him. I can often be the negative nellie when it comes to what the Jones’ have or when things aren’t going our way and he is more Mr. Optimistic. He is a perfect gift giver (when he gives them) and is one of the most thoughtful guys I know. I still get flowers for no reason at all; which is so very nice. He is also the more level headed disciplinarian for our kids; I find myself being the tough guy and he is always better at listening to their stories and finding a better way to discipline. He is also my BIGGEST cheerleader in all of my endeavors no matter how crazy (bikini competitor) that they may be, he is always there with a smile and a you can do it attitude for me…even when I don’t have one myself.
Don’t get me wrong he isn’t perfect and neither am I…but I couldn’t ask for a better dad and husband and today I throw this one to you B. Rhodes…thanks for everything and your kids thank you too. Happy Father’s Day!
