Riboflavin is a type of B vitamin that plays a major role in the production of energy. This vitamin is water-soluble, which means that it is not stored in the body and it must be replenished in your body every day.
According to Webmd, “Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) is required for the proper development and function of the skin, lining of the digestive tract, blood cells, and many other parts of the body.” It is frequently used in combination with other B vitamins and in vitamin B complex products (which generally include vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin/niacinamide), Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) and folic acid. In addition to working well with other B vitamins, riboflavin also plays an important role for body growth, red blood cell production and helps in releasing energy from carbohydrates.
According to Medline Plus, riboflavin deficiency is not common in the United States because it is plentiful in our food supply. Riboflavin is found in dairy products, eggs, green leafy vegetables, lean meats, legumes, milk and nuts.

This vitamin is commonly used for preventing migraine headaches. Some cervical cancer patients may add it to their treatment regime, but it alone cannot fight the affected cells.
