With many people changing careers multiple times during their lives, having children early, or just being interested in too many different areas (like me), college after children is becoming a way of life for many of us. I am blessed enough to be able to stay home with my children, so going to college is fairly easy for me. All I can say is thank goodness for online classes! With the exception of math classes, not my favorite subject to begin with, online classes are super conducive for a self-motivated learner. And let’s be honest, most of us who go back to school after having children or a previous career are quite self-motivated.

I cannot adequately express how excited I am that my children will be heading to kindergarten and preschool this year, allowing me to get my homework completed while they are learning and giving us time to enjoy each other’s company. In fact, part of my current stress is trying to figure out how to balance spending time with my children and spending time reading, studying, and writing for my classes. I have nothing but awe for those amazing people who can work a fulltime job, take care of their family, and pursue higher education. I think that as a Learnin’ Mama myself, I never want to stop learning and hope to one day have my doctorate in child development and counseling, granted by that time my kiddos are likely to be in college themselves. 🙂
