Anyone who knows me, or anyone who read one of my first blogs a couple of months back, knows that I am getting married in October. Anyone who is in my family or a close friend knows that my body loses fat at a rate slow enough to drive Mrs. Daisey! Truly, for as long as I can remember my body has been my “Everest”.
When I was in my early twenties I was able to stay in the 118-127 lb range, but it took 90 minutes of cardio 6-7 days a week and a diet of little more than 2 Slim Fast shakes and a Lean Cuisine a day to maintain it. With my pregnancy, I had to eat super healthy, say no to cravings and keep up a workout schedule of cardio, weights, and yoga just to keep my weight gain under the 30 lb. mark. And post pregnancy it took two workouts a day to shed the weight and seek out my waistline that was determined to hide amongst the blubber.
Factor in what I like to call the, “New Love, Big Gut” stage of my current relationship when I spent more time eating pizza than grilled chicken and doing more snuggling than cardio, and the result is about 20 – 30 extra pounds that have set up camp in my mid-section!
While I must admit diet and exercise over the past couple of months have warranted some results, I am still in search of that wedding day perfect body! My friend Brooke Griffin here at Skinnymom hooked me up with a killer diet and routine (seriously – have you seen her abs??), but I fear that my body needs an extra kick! Enter in Beachbody’s Insanity!!
Insanity is supposed to be a 60 day super intense cardio and body weight resistance program. For lack of a better description, it is supposed to shred you in 60 days! But that’s right ladies, crazy me says it is still not enough. So, in addition to the Insanity program of 45-60 minutes of cardio drills six days a week, I plan to also incorporate Brooke’s weight training program and super intense diet.
So wish me luck, by the time October rolls around I will either be one hot mama/bride or the craziest, crabbiest chick on the block!! Weekly updates on my progress to follow….
Any of you ladies already tried Insanity?? Let me know your thoughts and results on the program.
