Some music may tame the savage, but other tunes can get you going to help unleash your beast. I like to crank upbeat music during all of my workouts to pass time, drown out everything else, and set my mood. All of these top 40 hits are at least 100 beats per minute (BPM), to help energize your workout. The last eight are 180 BPM, which per Runner’s World Magazine is the optimal stride turnover to prevent injuries when running. As a reluctant runner myself, my feet do seem to move faster with a quick beat.
