FREE APP REVIEW: Cozi Dinner Decider
I don’t know about you, but one of the hardest things for me is planning out what I’m going to fix my family for dinner every night. I’ll admit it, I am not good at getting the whole week planned out and ready on the weekend, because I have found that our family’s schedule changes so much that I can’t count on it. So, when I found out about this app, I was really excited!
The Dinner Decider is really just what it sounds like – an app that helps you decide what’s for dinner. The app is really intuitive and once you tell it what type of things you like and don’t like, it helps you sort through recipes that will work for your family. Plus, you can rate recipes that you have tried and that will help the app pick out the best meals for you. If you only want to see low-cal recipes, the app will only show you low-cal recipes. If you want to use your crockpot during the week, just let the app know and it will take care of pulling the right recipes for you. Each week you get 5 recipes and 2 alternatives.
There are lots of other features that this app has too – like grocery list keeping, saving recipes as “favorites”, nutritional information and points.
DOWN SIDE: So, even though the app is free to download, if you want to get the recipes each week, you have to pay. You get a sample and the first week free, but after that you will have to pay. The good part is that you can get an entire year for only $30 – which comes out to about $.58 per week. Not bad!
Audrey’s App Rating: 4 out of 5 – only because it isn’t free.
PAID APP REVIEW: Cozi Sitter Manager
Does the thought of scheduling a babysitter for your next night out stress you out so much that you would rather just stay home? If so, this is $.99 that you should probably spend. The Sitter Manager (developed by the same people that did the Dinner Decider) helps you quickly and easily contact your selected sitters, find out who is available and get them on your calendar – without having to call anyone.
For me, with only one child and not needing a sitter all that often, I didn’t find this app all that helpful. However, I know a lot of my friends would absolutely love this app and I could see them using it all the time!
Audrey’s App Rating: 4 out of 5 – there are a few kinks that the creators are still working out, but overall, I think this is a good app for busy moms to have at their fingertips.
