Getting back into a workout routine after having a baby two months ago has been tough to say the least. I’ve been adjusting to being a mom of two kids, a lack of sleep and to the healing and recovering of my new post-baby number two body. It’s been a whirlwind and a blessing. That being said, one thing that I have been doing to slowly get myself back into shape is a 30-day challenge.
If you’ve never attempted a 30-day challenge, you’re missing out on some fun but challenging workouts… hence the name. In most 30-day challenges, you will find a similar layout: They start off fairly easy and help you build up whichever muscles you are focusing on by the end of the 30 days. They are perfect for all moms from the working momma who doesn’t have much time to squeeze in a full-blown workout to the postpartum mom. Here are a few reasons 30-day challenges will be perfect for you.

1. You take it one day at a time. Obviously it would not be called a challenge if it did not involve some challenge to it. When you take the challenge one day at a time, it breaks down a larger goal into smaller ones which increase each day. For example, your challenge could be to do 200 squats at one time. Day 1 would have less squats and each day they would increase a little.
2. They are normally short and sweet… well, bittersweet. Most 30-day challenges could be done in 15 minutes or less, 30 minutes max. This is great for us moms who are constantly attending to our precious little ones.
3. You accomplish a big goal if you see it to the end… winning! Who can do 200 squats at a time or 100 pushups without stopping? Some amazing women can, but not all. When you complete your challenge, you will have accomplished a huge goal and you can own those pushups, burpees or squats like a boss!
I encourage you to try a 30-day challenge. Will it be easy? No. Will it be worth it? Yes! You are in luck, too. Skinny Mom is hosting a 30-day Better Booty Challenge throughout the month of October.
