Being a mom, it can be hard to find the time in our busy schedules to exercise. However, it is so important to keep healthy and fit if we want to be keep up with our energetic children and stick around to see them grow up! With that said, here are a few ways to sneak in exercise without having to devote any extra time at the gym!
Park far away. Every extra step counts!
Take the stairs instead of the escalator. Not only are you getting some cardio, but also building some fat-torching muscles!
Get a dog. Those with a dog must spend time playing with their pets (which usually involves running around) and typically need to walk their pet at least twice daily.
Work out at home during TV commercials: Anytime a commercial comes on TV, choose between doing jumping jacks, squats, lunges, etc. The options are endless!
Speaking of TV… manually change the channel. Once again, every step counts!
At the office desk: Every 30 to 60 minutes, stop working and grab some water. Not only will you get in some exercises, but you will also stay hydrated. After all, thirst can sometimes be mistaken for hunger – that can be a bad thing!
Window shop at the mall. Find out the latest fashions while walking the mall.
Do chores. Outdoors: Rake leaves, mow the lawn, shovel snow, trim bushes, get the mail, power wash the driveway or home, garden, chop wood, wash the car, etc. Indoors: Vacuum, sweep, scrub the bathroom tub and/or toilet, dust, etc.

Get off your Tush. STAND. The average adult can burn at least 10 more calories per hour if they switch from sitting to standing while doing a task.
You’re it: Relive your childhood by playing tag with someone.
Enjoy seasonal activities with friends. Spring: Berry picking, flying a kite, play Frisbee, etc. Summer: Swimming, roller blading, etc. Winter: Ice skating, hockey, etc. Fall: Apple picking, pumpkin picking, etc.
Join a local sports team. Step up both your social and fitness game by joining a basketball, baseball, volleyball or other local sports team.
Go dancing. Make a romantic evening date by going ballroom dancing or have a disco dance party at home with the kids!

All of these options are healthy and it gives you ways to get some kind of exercise in. The key is to get moving!
