You may be wondering what a 40-year-old mom knows about hot new tunes? Well, I know what I like, and I like plenty! My iTunes library may scare you as it ranges from Disney to death metal and everything in between. Ann Voskamp, author of the book and blog One Thousand Gifts believes our lives have a soundtrack, and I’ve certainly always believed that. From records (yes, I owned some as a child) to mixed tapes; iTunes to Spotify, I embrace it all and am listening to some sort of music morning ‘til night. Here’s my latest workout mix:

Can’t Hold Us-Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray DaltonOf Thriftshop fame, this tune has cleaner lyrics and a better beat.

Gentleman- Psy: I’ll admit after I saw his Pistachio nuts commercial, I feared him a one-hit-wonder. This tune proves me wrong.

Don’t Hold the Wall-Justin Timberlake: I’m like a teenager again when it comes to Justin. I wasn’t sure at first about his new album, but this tune is GOOD.

The Truth About Love- P!NK: Really fun; really P!NK!

Some Nights- Fun.: Not the newest tune, but I still love it. Reminiscent of Queen.

Everybody Talks-Neon Trees: I would have loved them in college; maybe that means I’m not actually old.

Feel So Close- Calvin Harris: Smooth vocals and a beat you could dance to.

Gold on the Ceiling- The Black Keys: Love the keyboard and sort-of sixties feel of the song. Plus they’re from Ohio… Akron to be exact.

I Love It– Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX: Reminds me a bit of Gwen Stefani and an updated Hollaback Girl

Sunshine- Matisyahu: Reggae with a pop flavor, always great for the summer.
