I have read many stories to my four-year old about Thanksgiving. Most of these are cute little simple stories about the pilgrims and the Mayflower. Some feature his favorite cartoon characters and their Thanksgiving hijinks. Our favorite this year is “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” :-)
This year, I have also really talked to him about real Thanksgiving and what it means to our family: giving thanks to God for all of our blessings. I write this with a bit of a heavy heart. Both my brother-in-law and my best friend have lost their beloved fathers this week. Now more than ever, it is important for us to remember our blessings.
I went on a search for preschool activities that would be fun to do with the little Bobo while we anxiously await Thanksgiving Day. I found the cutest bible-based Thanksgiving activities from ChristianPreschoolPrintables.com. Among the many fun little learning pages are two that we plan to do in the next week: a cornucopia of thanks and a matching game with Thanksgiving terms and pictures. There are so many more great ideas! Check out the site and find some fun activities to do with your family this Thanksgiving season!
