These cookies have been a family favorite since the first day I made them, and knowing how healthy they are, I don’t mind if their hands dip into the cookie jar a few extra times!
Ingredients
- • 2 cups of large flake oats
- • 2 Tbs gr flax
- • 1-2 tsp cinnamon
- • 3 ripe mashed bananas
- • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
- • 1 Tbs honey
- • 1 tsp vanilla
- • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (or whatever dried fruit you like)
- • 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds (substitute with walnuts, pecans or almonds)
Instructions
- 1. Mix all ingredients together
- 2. Drop by spoonfuls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet
- 3. Place in a 350 degree oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Is the recipe really supposed show the ground flax as ONLY 2 tablespoons?
Made these twice – first time as written except for cranberries since I did not have them on hand. We enjoyed the cookies but the kids did not love them. Trying again with cranberries. Also added a few ingredients to suit my tastes (1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 cup pea butter (alternative to peanut butter due to a nut allergy) and another tbsp of honey.) Super yummy the second time and worth the extra calories since it’s a treat!
That is the beauty of this recipe Josie – SO versatile!! I made them yesterday with just the chocolate chips and threw in some shredded unsweetened coconut – and the time before, chocolate chips and a 1/3 cup natural peanut butter – SO yummy!!
