Is there anything better than a perfect t-shirt? Well, maybe for me, a perfect tank top. Good news, ladies… I found them both! I am here to attest…they really do fit like gloves. I just had to get to know Tina a little better and find out how she has created such perfectly-fitting activewear.

SM:  You’re a pilates instructor. What made you decide to branch out into the world of fashion?

T:- I’ve always loved clothes, but like many women, I’m always pressed for time!  Whenever I would teach, I would always try to put together a cute outfit, but sometimes it would be difficult because I would need to get to an appointment right afterwards that wouldn’t be appropriate for workout wear. So, I decided to create my own line of clothing that would be so versatile that women could wear it ‘from work to workout’ or ‘studio to street.’

SM: How does your background in pilates shape your designs?

T: Given all the different Pilates positions we need to be able to get into, I wanted to make sure that whatever I had on wouldn’t ride up and leave any areas exposed.  Therefore, I design everything so that it stays in place whether you’re reaching up to the sky or bending over to pick something up.  This is a feature that all of our customers love – not just the ones that wear our product to work out.

SM: Your clothes are one size fits most. How can that be?

T: We have designed our product with an amazing stretch that bounces right back! We’ve even had pregnant women wear our product – and then be able to use the exact same shirt or leggings after giving birth, because they go right back into shape!

SM: Do you have a favorite piece in your collection?

T: Hmmm, that’s tough.  I live in our camis and tanks (I wear them solo in the summer, and then layered in winter) – BUT, I think my favorites right now are our skirts and dresses.  I’ve been traveling a lot lately, and  I love how I can just throw them into my suitcase, shake them out and look perfectly put together when I put them on.  I also love our leggings for on the plane – so comfortable for long flights, and they don’t sag or bag, so I don’t have to keep hiking them up!

SM: What do you think that women should look for in workout wear?

T: Comfort and pizazz!  When I’m working out I want something that I don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen when I bend over and pick up some weights or a flex band, but I need some good energy, so I’ll choose fun, bright colors.  Some of my favorites are our tie dyes, they are very forgiving and the design helps camouflage the extra dessert I may have had the night before!

SM: As a woman that started her own business, do you have any advice for other women with great ideas and a desire to share them?

T: Plan for success, not failure!  Be willing to take calculated chances.  And a supportive network of friends and family never hurts!
