Ingredients
- • 1lb extra lean ground turkey
- • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
- • 1 Clove Garlic (chopped)
- • 1 package reduced fat crescent rolls
- • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- • 1 cup Nonfat Cottage Cheese
- • 1 Egg
- • 3/4 Cup Kraft 2% Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- • 4(ish) Slices of Tomato
Instructions
- Brown Turkey Onion & Garlic in a pan. Yes, I use frozen pre-chopped onion. Time saver!
- Drain meat of fat/grease. Mix Worcestershire sauce in with meat mixture.
- Place rolls in pie pan (or 8x8 pan) to make crust
- Pour meat mixture into pie pan
- In a separate bowl, mix cottage cheese with egg.
- Pour cottage cheese mixture over meat in the pie pan.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Place tomato slices on top. I normally just place four big pieces on top and then fill in the spaces.
- Bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes – let stand for 5 minutes before serving. I have yet to be able to make the servings actually look like slices of pie. It kinda all just falls apart when you put it on the plate. It's very yummy, just not necessarily very pretty.

This dish fills that burger craving! This dish is made ‘skinner’ with ground turkey, but this is one meal where my husband begs me not to make the switch from lean ground beef – I just make sure I drain the meat well – and let him win that battle

This looks amazing, gonna have to try that soon.
Thanks for this pin. I made this for dinner this evening . It was so yummy served with a nice salad. However, I only had about 1/2 cup of cottage cheese on hand so I substituted some lower fat cream cheese. It probably increased some fat and calories. I will try it again for sure.
Hi Ladies!!
This look delicious BUT… I’m in New Zealand and I don’t know what crescent rolls are??
Are they Croissants???
I love making cheeseburger pie. It has been a while since I have and this gave me a great idea to for dinner tonight. I add diced tomatoes to the ground turkey along with diced and sauteed mushrooms. I also make turkey bacon and put it in there too… It changes it to be a little less skinny but still way below what a cheeseburger would be.
Can you use an egg substitute instead of an egg????
I think you need the yolk in there to bind – I have never tried not having a “real” egg, anyone else have any insight into this?
I just made this for dinner tonight. It was delicious! I will definately be making this again!
I’m and have been grossed out by the texture of cottage cheese in general – this may sound silly, but how does it differ cooked? how does cottage cheese effect the taste? I’d love to try recipe but not sure of the cottage cheese.
Thanks,
I don’t think you will notice the cottage cheese since you have ground turkey in there….I wasn’t sure if my kids would like it but they devoured it!
this is like the best recipe ever!!!
My family loves this recipe! My husband made it last time and he added ketchup and mustard on top before baking and it was awesome!
